Rahul Dravid’s Best Phone Call from Rohit Sharma After ODI World Cup

Rahul Dravid, who was the head coach of the Indian cricket team, shared that a phone call from skipper Rohit Sharma after the ODI World Cup was one of the best he ever received. Dravid’s time as head coach ended on a high note with India winning the T20 World Cup in Barbados, breaking a 13-year ICC trophy drought.

Dravid’s tenure saw ups and downs, including a heartbreaking loss to Australia in the ODI World Cup final. However, Rohit Sharma convinced Dravid to stay on for the T20 World Cup, leading to their eventual triumph.

During an event at Wankhede Stadium, Dravid expressed his gratitude, saying, “I am so thankful because I had the chance to work with an exceptionally great bunch of boys.” He praised the team’s hard work, resilience, and fighting spirit, calling it a privilege to coach them.

The Indian team’s victory was celebrated with a grand parade in Mumbai, where fans turned up in large numbers to show their support. Dravid remarked, “I am going to miss this love. What we have seen today is absolutely phenomenal.”

After Dravid’s tenure, VVS Laxman will take over as head coach for the upcoming T20I series against Zimbabwe. The next permanent head coach for India is yet to be announced.
