Former India head coach Rahul Dravid has praised skipper Rohit Sharma, calling it a privilege to work with the 37-year-old. Rohit has achieved remarkable success in white-ball cricket, amassing 14,846 runs, three double hundreds, 33 hundreds, and 87 fifties in ODIs and T20Is combined. He is also a two-time ICC T20 World Cup and ICC Champions Trophy winner and holds the record for most sixes in T20Is.
Rohit’s tenure as India’s T20I captain was notable, surpassing MS Dhoni with 49 wins in 62 matches. He led India to the ICC T20 World Cup title after a thrilling final against South Africa, ending an 11-year ICC trophy drought.
Speaking to Star Sports, Dravid described Rohit as a “fantastic leader” who attracts people towards him and the team. Dravid also highlighted the humility and work ethic of other senior players like Virat Kohli, Jasprit Bumrah, and Ravichandran Ashwin, which contributes to their superstar status.
Dravid concluded by saying that managing these players was not difficult due to their professionalism and the supportive environment created by the team.
