Rabri Devi Criticizes Union Budget, Rajiv Ranjan Singh Defends It

Former Bihar Chief Minister and RJD leader Rabri Devi criticized the Union Budget presented by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, calling it an attempt by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to stay in power. She said, ‘The budget that was presented yesterday is just to save the ‘chair’…PM Modi has announced all sops for the two states of Andhra Pradesh and Bihar just so that he can remain in power.’

Rabri Devi also mentioned that despite the construction of flyovers, over 20 of them have collapsed, and the budget has fooled the people of Bihar. RJD MP Misa Bharti also criticized the budget, stating that it does nothing for the youth or the middle class and is merely a repackaging effort to save PM Modi’s position.

On the other hand, Union Minister Rajiv Ranjan Singh expressed satisfaction with the budget, highlighting the numerous packages for Bihar in sectors like infrastructure, tourism, and irrigation. He said, ‘Today’s budget has an abundance of packages for Bihar. Whatever sector you look at–be it strengthening infrastructure, developing tourism or irrigation–there is an abundance of schemes in every sector.’

Additionally, Indian Youth Congress workers protested against Chief Minister Nitish Kumar outside the Bihar Legislative Council over issues like the anti-paper leak bill, unemployment, and the Agniveer scheme.
