In Bengaluru, R Ashoka, the Leader of Opposition in the Karnataka Assembly, addressed rumors about a conflict between the BJP and JD(S) over the Channapatna Assembly seat for the upcoming by-election. He assured that the NDA would soon decide on the seat allocation, emphasizing his good relationship with HD Kumaraswamy, a key stakeholder.

HD Kumaraswamy, a Union Minister, mentioned that some individuals were trying to create a rift between JD(S) and BJP to benefit the Congress candidate. He expressed confidence that these efforts would fail. The Channapatna by-polls are scheduled for November 13, following Kumaraswamy’s election to the Lok Sabha from Mandya.

Kumaraswamy clarified that there had been no discussions about CP Yogeshwar’s rumored candidacy in Channapatna. He noted that Congress was attempting to cause division within the NDA alliance, but he remained patient to prevent this. He expected a decision on the seat by Tuesday or Wednesday.

Kumaraswamy also highlighted that JD(S) has a strong presence in Channapatna and had previously ceded the Bengaluru rural seat to BJP, hoping for similar cooperation in return.
