The Mexican Embassy in India expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Indian government for illuminating the iconic Qutub Minar in New Delhi with Mexico’s flag colors. This gesture celebrated Mexico’s 214th Independence Day on September 16.

The embassy highlighted the importance of the strategic partnership between Mexico and India, focusing on strengthening trade-investment exchanges, exploring cooperation in innovation, and promoting cultural exchanges.

On July 5, a Mexican police officer, M Olmos A, who underwent training at the Mexico Police Training Programme at Rashtriya Raksha University in Gandhinagar, praised the training received in India. Olmos said, “For the past 15 days, we took part in a special training here in India. Now, we know better practices for policing in my country.”

Major General Deepak Mehra, Director of the School of Internal Security and SMART Policing, noted that statues of eminent personalities like Mahatma Gandhi are honored in many places in Mexico, reflecting the shared values of peace and non-violence between the two nations. He also mentioned that Nobel laureate and former Ambassador of Mexico to India, Octavio Paz, wrote some of his best works during his time in India, which opened cultural gateways for many Mexicans.
