PV Sindhu Exits Arctic Open 2024
In Vantaa, Finland, Indian badminton star PV Sindhu faced a tough match at the Arctic Open 2024, losing to Canada’s Michelle Li in the first round. The match, which lasted 37 minutes, ended with scores of 21-16, 21-10 in favor of Li. This was Sindhu’s first tournament appearance since the Paris Olympics 2024 and her first under new coaches Anoop Sridhar from India and Lee Soon Il from the Republic of Korea. However, Sathish Kumar Karunakaran’s journey ended with a loss to France’s Arnaud Merkle, 21-6, 21-13. Despite this, Karunakaran and his partner Aadya Variyath advanced in mixed doubles by defeating the Estonian pair Mikk Ounmaa and Ramona Uprus.
