PV Sindhu and Sharath Kamal Lead India at Paris Olympics 2024 Opening Ceremony
The Paris Olympics 2024 began with a grand opening ceremony where PV Sindhu and Sharath Kamal led the Indian contingent of 78 athletes and officials in the Parade of Nations at the River Seine. Despite the rain, the Indian athletes and officials were full of enthusiasm, waving to fans in their specially designed traditional attire.

India’s contingent for the 33rd Summer Games includes 117 athletes competing in 16 sports disciplines, aiming for 95 medals. The first medal opportunity for India is in the mixed team air rifle event on Saturday at the National Shooting Centre in Chateauroux, with teams Sandeep Singh/Elavenil Valarivan and Arjun Babuta/Ramita Jindal competing.
