Punjab Skill Development Mission Partners with Microsoft to Train 10,000 Youths
Chandigarh (Punjab) [India], June 21: To help the youth of Punjab find jobs and improve their skills, the Punjab Skill Development Mission (PSDM) has signed an agreement with Microsoft. This agreement aims to teach important skills to at least 10,000 young people in Punjab within a year.
Key Figures
The agreement was signed by Amrit Singh, Director of PSDM, and Sanjay Dhingra, Country Head Education at Microsoft India. Punjab’s Employment Minister, Aman Arora, congratulated the department for this achievement.
Skills and Training
This partnership will provide training in digital productivity, employability, English communication, entrepreneurship, and technology skills, including cloud computing, artificial intelligence (AI), cybersecurity, and sustainability. The goal is to prepare the youth for jobs in an AI-enabled economy.
Future Plans
Amrit Singh mentioned that more agreements with other companies will be signed soon to continue providing skilled workers for the industry. The collaboration will also focus on training rural youth, young women, girls, and persons with disabilities to improve their job prospects.
Comprehensive Training
The training will include foundational digital skills, employability skills, and AI fluency. There will also be in-depth training programs on cloud, AI, security, and sustainability for students in technical and vocational education institutions.
