Punjab Police Stop Terror Attacks and Drug Smuggling: Arrests Made
In a major operation, Punjab Police have successfully prevented potential target killings by arresting members of a Babbar Khalsa International (BKI)-backed terror module. The State Special Operation Cell (SSOC) in Amritsar captured Harpreet Singh, also known as Happy Passia, and Resham Singh. They were involved in illegal activities directed by their foreign handlers. The police recovered a pistol, two magazines, nine live bullets, and one empty bullet shell.
The Punjab Police, under the guidance of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, are committed to eradicating terror and organized crime. DGP Punjab’s official handle posted about the operation, highlighting the arrests and the recovered items.
Earlier, the Anti-Gangster Task Force (AGTF) Punjab, in collaboration with Rajasthan Police and Bathinda Police, arrested three associates of the Lawrence Bishnoi and USA-based Goldy Brar Gang. The arrested individuals are Gurpreet Singh, Maninder Singh, and Harcharanjit Singh. They were found with two .32 caliber pistols and six cartridges.
In another significant development, Punjab Police busted a Pakistan-backed drug smuggling racket, arresting Gurmukh Singh and Jagwant Singh from the Tarn Taran district. The police recovered 7 kg of heroin, five pistols, five live cartridges, and five magazines. This operation is part of the ongoing drive to make Punjab a safer state.
