Sirsa (Haryana) [India], September 26: Punjab Congress President Amarinder Singh Raja Warring criticized Union Minister Manohar Lal Khattar on Thursday for his remarks on the farmer protests. Warring claimed that Khattar was removed because the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) understood that they would not win any seats as long as he was in power. Warring also mentioned that Bhupinder Hooda had promised to open the borders and allow farmers to go to Delhi if the Congress government was formed.

On Wednesday, Khattar had criticized the protests at the Haryana-Punjab border, stating that the protesters were not real farmers and that the Supreme Court would soon make a decision to prevent such people from crossing the border. He explained that the route to Punjab was closed and that plans were made to open it, but some individuals, disguised as farmers, aimed to destabilize the government. Khattar assured that the Supreme Court was working on a solution and would consider the convenience of the people.

Haryana will hold elections on October 5, and the results for both Haryana and Jammu and Kashmir will be announced on October 8.
