Punjab CM Maryam Nawaz Calls PTI a ‘Terrorist Group’
On October 5, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif made a strong statement against the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party, led by Imran Khan. She urged that PTI should be treated like terrorists, claiming they repeatedly target their own country. Maryam Nawaz shared her views on X, stating that PTI is not a political party but a terrorist group.
She accused PTI of using trained terrorists to attack police and the state, sharing an image of an injured police constable. Meanwhile, PTI reported the arrest of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur, which was confirmed by PTI leader Omar Ayub. However, government sources denied the arrest claims.
IG Islamabad police Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi arrested Gandapur on charges of attacking the state and misusing official protocol. The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa House in Islamabad was sealed following Gandapur’s arrest, as stated by government spokesperson Barrister Saif.
PTI also accused Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and the Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz (PML-N) of ordering tear gas shelling at D Chowk in Islamabad. A video shared by PTI showed security personnel using tear gas against protesters.
