Punjab BJP Chief Sunil Jakhar Complains About Gangster Daljeet Bhana’s Parole Before Jalandhar West By-Elections
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has raised a complaint against the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) for releasing the dreaded gangster Daljeet Bhana on parole ahead of the Jalandhar West Constituency by-elections. In a letter to the Election Commission of India, the BJP stated that Bhana, who is out on parole, is campaigning for the AAP and spreading fear among the voters.
The letter mentioned, “It came to the knowledge, that during the bye-election process of AC Jalandhar west, the ruling AAP Govt. of Punjab has released, one dreaded gangster, Daljeet Bhana, on parole, in violation to MCC guidelines.”
The BJP further claimed that Bhana, involved in various murder cases, is now roaming freely in the area with police officials, creating terror and panic among voters. The BJP workers fear that Bhana has been released to capture polling booths.
Requesting the Election Commission to cancel Bhana’s parole, the BJP stated, “You are requested to take immediate action, his parole be cancelled to ensure the free & fair elections.”
Former Chief Minister and Jalandhar MP Charanjit Singh Channi also accused the AAP of manipulating the Jalandhar West assembly by-election. He said, “The government has stooped to a new low and has brought in gangsters and notorious elements to intimidate the voters. A gangster Daljit Singh Bhana was given parole two days ago, and he is aggressively campaigning for the ruling party. There are apprehensions of booth capturing on the polling day by these anti-social elements. What is need of giving parole to dreaded gangster.”
The bye-election for the Jalandhar West Assembly seat is scheduled for July 10.
