Pune Porsche Crash: Hearing Postponed to September 26
The Juvenile Justice Board (JJB) in Pune has delayed the hearing on three important applications in the Porsche crash case until September 26. These applications include a police request to try the minor driver as an adult and defense requests to release the impounded Porsche car and the minor’s passport.
On Wednesday, the JJB received various assessment reports about the minor, and the defense submitted its response to the police’s plea. The hearing will now take place on September 26, where the JJB is expected to consider these applications and make a decision.
Earlier, on August 22, a Pune court rejected the bail applications of six individuals accused of manipulating blood samples in connection with the Porsche crash case. These individuals were arrested by the Pune Crime Branch for allegedly conspiring to tamper with evidence and manipulate the blood sample of the minor accused.
The case dates back to May 19, when a Porsche car, allegedly driven by a minor under the influence, hit two IT professionals, resulting in their deaths in the Kalyani Nagar area of Pune. The incident caused a nationwide uproar after the JJB granted bail to the minor on lenient terms, including writing a 300-word essay on road safety.
The case against the main accused, a minor, is ongoing before the Juvenile Justice Board.
