Raoof Hasan, the information secretary for Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), was sent on a 14-day judicial remand by an Anti-Terrorism Court in Islamabad. Judge Tahir Abbas Supra denied a plea for a seven-day physical remand.

Hasan was arrested on July 22 at the PTI Secretariat in Islamabad, following a raid by law enforcement based on information from an international social media activist. The PTI Secretariat’s digital media centre was reportedly the hub of an international disinformation network.
