PT Usha, the President of the Indian Olympic Association (IOA), has officially announced the dates for the 38th National Games to be held in Uttarakhand. In a letter to Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, she emphasized the importance of the event and the IOA’s dedication to its success.

Event Dates and Challenges

The National Games are scheduled from January 28 to February 14, 2025. However, there is a scheduling conflict with the Asian Winter Games in Harbin, China, from February 7 to February 14, 2025. PT Usha highlighted the need to adjust the National Games schedule to avoid overlap, as India will send a large team to the Asian Winter Games.

Commitment to Success

Despite the postponement of the IOA’s Special General Meeting, PT Usha assured that the IOA is committed to the National Games. The IOA has formed a Games Technical Conduct Committee and other key committees to ensure smooth preparations and execution.

Promoting Sports in India

The National Games aim to bring together athletes from across India, showcasing their talents and promoting sports development. The IOA’s efforts, along with the support of the Uttarakhand government, are set to make the event a significant milestone in India’s sports calendar.
