Prof. Md. Mahtab Alam Rizvi Appointed as Officiating Registrar of JMI
In New Delhi, Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) has announced the appointment of Prof. Md. Mahtab Alam Rizvi as the new officiating registrar. The Vice Chancellor, Prof. Mazhar Asif, made the appointment, and Prof. Rizvi took charge immediately. He succeeds M. Nasim Haider, who served as the acting registrar for several months.
The university community, including the Vice Chancellor and staff, congratulated Prof. Rizvi and expressed their support. Prof. Rizvi, who has over 20 years of experience in teaching and research, expressed gratitude for the trust placed in him and emphasized teamwork for the university’s progress.
Prof. Rizvi joined JMI in 2017 and has a background in international relations, foreign policy, and security issues. He has worked with the Institute for Defence Studies and Analyses and has been involved in various administrative roles. His expertise includes India’s strategic relations with West Asia and North Africa, and he has been a part of significant projects with Iran and GCC countries.
Additionally, Prof. Rizvi is a member of the Aligarh Muslim University Court and an External Member of the Institutional Academic Integrity Panel at Maulana Azad National Urdu University.
