Priyanka Gandhi Vadra Defends Rahul Gandhi’s ‘Jai Samvidhaan’ Chant in Parliament

New Delhi, June 27: Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra expressed her disapproval of the objections raised against Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi’s chant of ‘Jai Samvidhaan’ in Parliament. She argued that while people in power were not stopped from raising ‘unparliamentary and unconstitutional’ slogans, objections were raised when an opposition MP chanted ‘Jai Samvidhaan’.

Priyanka Gandhi Vadra posted on X, questioning if ‘Jai Samvidhaan’ could not be chanted in the Indian Parliament. She highlighted that the anti-constitution sentiment that emerged during the elections has now taken a new form, seeking to weaken the Constitution.

This incident occurred after Rahul Gandhi took his oath as a Member of Parliament (MP) from Raebareli, concluding with ‘Jai Samvidhaan’. The second day of the Parliament session saw various MPs chanting different slogans during their oath-taking ceremonies.

Rahul Gandhi’s oath-taking was followed by other MPs, including BJP MP Chhatrapal Singh Gangwar, who chanted ‘Jai Hindu Rashtra, Jai Bharat’, and AIMIM leader Asaduddin Owaisi, who concluded with ‘Jai Palestine’.

Priyanka Gandhi Vadra also mentioned that she was pleased to see several party leaders taking oaths in the 18th Lok Sabha. If Priyanka Gandhi wins from Wayanad, three members of the Nehru-Gandhi family will be in Parliament.

Meanwhile, efforts by the BJP’s top leadership to reach a consensus on the Speaker of the 18th Lok Sabha were unsuccessful, leading to the nomination of K Suresh by the INDIA bloc and Om Birla by the BJP.
