Priyanka Gandhi, Congress General Secretary and United Democratic Front (UDF) candidate, is set to file her nomination for the upcoming parliamentary bypolls in Wayanad, Kerala, on October 23. She will be accompanied by Rahul Gandhi, Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha and former Wayanad MP. The duo plans to hold a roadshow before the nomination filing.

The Congress party approved Priyanka’s candidature on October 15, following the Election Commission of India’s announcement of the bypoll schedule. Saral Patel has been appointed as the Media Coordinator for Wayanad.

Wayanad will vote on November 13, alongside bye-elections in 47 assembly seats across 15 states and the first phase of assembly polls in Jharkhand. The Wayanad seat was vacated by Rahul Gandhi after he was elected to Lok Sabha from Raebareli, Uttar Pradesh.

If elected, Priyanka Gandhi will become the third MP from the Gandhi family in the current Parliament, joining Sonia Gandhi in Rajya Sabha. Priyanka has maintained strong ties with Amethi and Raebareli, and she expressed her commitment to representing Wayanad effectively.

Rahul Gandhi assured the people of Wayanad of his continued support and expressed confidence in Priyanka’s victory. He emphasized that both he and Priyanka would be available to the people of Wayanad and Raebareli.
