In Mumbai, Maharashtra, Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Priyanka Chaturvedi expressed confidence that Aaditya Thackeray will secure a second term with a significant victory margin. Thackeray, who is the current MLA from Worli and a former guardian minister of Mumbai’s suburban district, filed his nomination for the upcoming Maharashtra assembly elections.
Chaturvedi described the atmosphere as “euphoric” and “festive,” predicting that Thackeray will surpass his previous win of over 70,000 votes. She criticized the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for spreading “lies” about the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) alliance and using central agencies against the opposition.
Chaturvedi claimed that Maharashtra’s decisions are controlled by two individuals, Narendra Modi and Amit Shah, and emphasized that the MVA is prepared to contest the elections. Aaditya Thackeray, during a roadshow, expressed confidence in winning and forming the government in Maharashtra.
The nomination process for the 288 assembly seats has begun, with polling scheduled for November 20 and results to be announced on November 23. In the 2019 elections, the BJP won 105 seats, Shiv Sena 56, and Congress 44.
