Prime Ministers Modi and Pham Minh Chinh Inaugurate Army Software Park in Vietnam
Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Vietnam PM Pham Minh Chinh inaugurated the Army Software Park at the Tele-Communications University in Nha Trang, Vietnam. The event took place at Hyderabad House in New Delhi.
Key Agreements Signed
Several Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) were signed to strengthen the bilateral ties between India and Vietnam:
- Strategic Partnership: Vietnam Foreign Minister Bui Thanh Son and External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar exchanged an MoU for advancing comprehensive strategic partnership between India and Vietnam from 2024 to 2028.
- Customs Cooperation: Nguyen Van Can, Director-General of the General Department of Vietnam Customs, and Sanjay Agarwal, Chairman of CBIC India, signed an MoU for cooperation in customs capacity building.
- Agriculture: Dao The Anh, Vice President of Vietnam Academy of Agriculture Sciences, and Anupam Mishra, Vice Chancellor of Central Agricultural University Imphal Manipur, signed an MoU for cooperation in agriculture, research, and education.
- Legal Cooperation: Nguyen Pong Nok, Deputy Minister of Justice, and Rajiv Mani, Law Secretary, signed an MoU for cooperation in the legal field.
- Media Collaboration: Do Tien Sy, President of the Voice of Vietnam, and Gaurav Dwivedi, CEO of Prasar Bharti, signed an MoU for cooperation on radio and television.
Financial Agreements
A $120 million credit line agreement was exchanged between the government of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, represented by the Ministry of Finance, and the Export-Import Bank of India. The agreement was signed by WoTan Hong, Deputy Minister of Finance, and Harsha Bangli, Managing Director of the Export-Import Bank of India.
Heritage Conservation
A letter of intent was exchanged between India and Vietnam for the restoration and conservation of the F block of the My Son UNESCO World Heritage site. This was signed by Trin ThiTui, Deputy Minister for Culture, Sports, and Tourism, and Jaideep Majumdar, Secretary East.
