The Indian community in Nigeria is thrilled as Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to arrive in Abuja. The city is adorned with posters and banners welcoming him. Dimple Alimchandani, a long-time resident, expressed her joy, stating, “We are very happy to have PM Modi here. He is our role model.”

Sivakumar from Lagos shared his excitement, calling it “an opportunity of a lifetime” to meet the Prime Minister. Rajendran, who runs a restaurant chain, highlighted the significance of this visit, as it marks PM Modi’s first visit to Nigeria in 17 years.

PM Modi’s visit, at the invitation of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, aims to strengthen the strategic partnership between India and Nigeria. He will also meet with the Indian community during his stay from November 16 to 17. This visit is part of a larger tour that includes Brazil and Guyana.
