Prime Minister Narendra Modi is visiting Varanasi, his constituency in Uttar Pradesh, to launch and lay the foundation stone for several significant projects. These projects are valued at approximately Rs 1,300 crore.

Key Projects and Inaugurations

Kaushal Raj Sharma, the Divisional Commissioner of Varanasi, announced that PM Modi will lay the foundation stone for 23 projects. Among these, the Varanasi Sports Complex will see the inauguration of Phases 2 and 3, costing over Rs 210 crore, under the ‘Khelo India’ scheme and the Smart City Mission. This complex will include a National Centre of Excellence, players’ hostels, a sports science center, and various practice fields.

Additionally, PM Modi will unveil multiple airport projects worth over Rs 6,100 crore. This includes the expansion of the airport runway and the construction of a new terminal building at Lal Bahadur Shastri International Airport, Varanasi, valued at around Rs 2,870 crore. He will also lay the foundation stone for new civil enclaves at Agra, Darbhanga, and Bagdogra Airports.

Healthcare and Connectivity Enhancements

At 2 pm, PM Modi will inaugurate the RJ Sankara Eye Hospital, which will provide comprehensive eye care services. Later, at 4.15 pm, he will address the public and inaugurate multiple development projects in Varanasi.

The new terminal buildings at Rewa Airport, Maa Mahamaya Airport, Ambikapur, and Sarsawa Airport, worth over Rs 220 crore, will also be inaugurated. These developments aim to increase the combined passenger handling capacity to over 2.3 crore passengers annually, with designs inspired by regional heritage structures.
