Prime Minister Narendra Modi received Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim with a ceremonial welcome at Rashtrapati Bhavan in Delhi. This visit marks Ibrahim’s first trip to India as the Malaysian premier.

The Ministry of External Affairs shared pictures of the two leaders, highlighting the importance of Malaysia in India’s Act East Policy. The visit aims to strengthen the India-Malaysia relationship, which was elevated to an Enhanced Strategic Partnership in 2015.

During his visit, Ibrahim paid homage to Mahatma Gandhi at Rajghat and signed the visitor’s book. He is also scheduled to meet President Droupadi Murmu and External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar.

The visit is expected to pave the way for further strengthening of India-Malaysia bilateral ties by charting out a multi-sectoral cooperation agenda for the future.
