Prime Minister Narendra Modi Visits Poland to Strengthen Ties and Honor Historical Connections
Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Poland on Wednesday, receiving a ceremonial welcome at the Warsaw airport. This visit is the first leg of his two-nation tour.
PM Modi expressed his excitement about the visit, stating, “Landed in Poland. Looking forward to the various programmes here. This visit will add momentum to the India-Poland friendship and benefit the people of our nations.”
Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal highlighted the significance of the visit, noting that India and Poland are commemorating 70 years of diplomatic relations this year.
During his stay, PM Modi will meet with his Polish counterpart and the President, and engage with the Indian community. He will also lay a wreath at the memorial of the Jam Saheb of Nawanagar, who established a camp for Polish refugee children during World War II. Additionally, he will visit the monument to the Battle of Monte Cassino, which honors the victory of the Second Polish Corps in 1944, and the Kolhapur Memorial, dedicated to the village that hosted Polish children in 1945.
