Srinagar (Jammu and Kashmir), July 24: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to visit Ladakh’s Drass on July 26 to mark the 25th anniversary of Kargil Vijay Diwas. He will address the nation and Army soldiers at the Kargil War Memorial, paying tribute to the brave soldiers who sacrificed their lives during the Kargil War.

The atmosphere is filled with pride and honor as the Prime Minister prepares to speak at the war memorial, a symbol of courage and bravery. The stage at the Kargil War Memorial is not just a physical structure but a platform for the Prime Minister to convey a message of gratitude, respect, and remembrance.

Siddharth Dave, husband of retired army officer Captain Meera Siddharth Dave, shared that they traveled 2,500 kilometers from Gujarat to Drass to seek inspiration from Prime Minister Modi. They call their journey the ‘Kargil Vijay Gyan Yatra’ to pay tribute to the brave soldiers.

Retired Captain Meera Siddharth Dave also expressed their dedication to honoring the soldiers on this historic day. The couple’s journey from Gujarat’s Surat to Drass is a testament to their respect for the bravehearts.

Lt Governor of Ladakh Brig (Retd) B D Mishra reviewed the arrangements for the Prime Minister’s visit, ensuring all necessary preparations are completed on time. He will inspect the arrangements at the Kargil War Memorial on July 24.

In 2022, Prime Minister Modi celebrated Diwali in Kargil with soldiers and paid tribute at the Kargil War Memorial. Kargil Vijay Diwas, observed annually on July 26, commemorates the victory of Operation Vijay in 1999, marking the end of the Kargil War between India and Pakistan.
