Russian Ambassador to India, Denis Alipov, announced that Russia is eager to welcome Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the BRICS Summit. The summit, themed “Strengthening Multilateralism for Equitable Global Development and Security,” will be held in Kazan from October 22-23. Alipov highlighted BRICS as a key platform for emerging economies, promoting global governance democratization and inclusive cooperation across various sectors.

BRICS, comprising Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa, represents a significant portion of the world’s population and economy. The grouping aims to foster equitable cooperation in a multipolar world. Alipov noted the interest of many countries in joining BRICS, emphasizing its respect for civilizational diversity and mutual dialogue.

Alipov also mentioned the expansion of NDB-sponsored infrastructure projects and the development of alternative payment systems. He stressed the importance of BRICS members coordinating to ensure equal resource access for developing nations. The Russian presidency aims to create favorable conditions for participants to utilize resources effectively, contributing to global security and harmony.

BRICS has a rich history, with its first summit held in 2009. It continues to be a vital platform for emerging economies, accounting for a significant share of the world’s population, GDP, and trade.
