Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Maharashtra’s Palghar and Mumbai to inaugurate several development projects. At around 11 AM, he will address the Global Fintech Fest (GFF) 2024 at the Jio World Convention Centre in Mumbai. The event is organized by the Payments Council of India, the National Payments Corporation of India, and the Fintech Convergence Council. Around 800 speakers from various countries will participate in over 350 sessions, showcasing the latest fintech innovations.

At around 1:30 PM, the Prime Minister will lay the foundation stone for Vadhvan Port in Palghar, a project costing around Rs. 76,000 crores. This port aims to boost trade and economic growth by accommodating large container vessels and providing direct connectivity to international shipping routes. The port will feature state-of-the-art technology and infrastructure, generating significant employment opportunities and stimulating local businesses.

Additionally, the Prime Minister will inaugurate 218 fisheries projects worth around Rs. 1,560 crores, aimed at improving infrastructure and productivity in the sector. These projects are expected to create over five lakh employment opportunities. He will also launch the National Roll Out of Vessel Communication and Support system, costing around Rs. 360 crores, to enhance safety and communication for fishermen at sea.

Other initiatives include the development of fishing harbours, Integrated Aquaparks, and the adoption of advanced technologies like the Recirculatory Aquaculture System and Biofloc. These projects will improve fish production, post-harvest management, and create sustainable livelihoods for millions in the fisheries sector.
