The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) reiterated India’s position on the Russia-Ukraine conflict, emphasizing that only dialogue and diplomacy can lead to a lasting resolution. MEA Secretary (West) Tanmaya Lal stated, “India has maintained a very clear and consistent position that only diplomacy and dialogue can resolve this conflict, which can lead to enduring peace.”

Independent Ties with Russia and Ukraine

India has substantial and independent relationships with both Russia and Ukraine. These partnerships are not mutually exclusive. Prime Minister Modi recently visited Russia, and he has met President Zelenskyy on several occasions over the past year.

Humanitarian Support to Ukraine

Since the start of the conflict, India has delivered 16 packages containing 135 tons of material, including medicines, power generators, and medical equipment, to Ukraine. Further initiatives are being explored to provide additional support.
