On Saturday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the Colaba-Bandra-SEEPZ Mumbai Metro Line 3, marking Mumbai’s first fully underground metro line. This event will also include the inauguration and Bhoomipujan of other development projects in Mumbai.

Details of the Metro Line 3

The Mumbai Metro Line 3 covers a 12.69-kilometre stretch between Aarey JVLR and Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC) and will be partially opened. The inauguration will be attended by notable figures such as C. P. Radhakrishanan, Governor of Maharashtra; Manohar Lal, Union Minister of Housing & Urban Affairs and Power; Eknath Shinde, Chief Minister of Maharashtra; Devendra Fadnavis, Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra; Ajit Pawar, Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra, and other VIPs.

Prime Minister’s Activities

PM Modi will arrive at the BKC metro station for the flagging-off ceremony and will take a train ride from BKC to Santacruz metro station, interacting with Laadki bahin beneficiaries, students, and laborers during the journey. Additionally, PM Modi will launch the MetroConnect3 mobile app, designed to enhance the travel experience with the latest features.

Special Releases

A coffee table book featuring a collection of spectacular photos of the underground metro journey will be unveiled by the Prime Minister. This book is a visual treat, showcasing the making of the metro.
