Prime Minister Narendra Modi Honors Unknown Soldiers in Moscow

On Tuesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid his respects at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in Moscow during his two-day official visit to Russia for the 22nd India-Russia Annual Summit. The memorial, located at the Kremlin wall, is dedicated to Soviet soldiers who lost their lives during World War II. Modi laid a wreath at the tomb to honor their bravery and sacrifice.

MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal tweeted, ‘A solemn homage to the brave! PM @narendramodi laid a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in Moscow, saluting valour, sacrifice and indomitable human courage.’

Earlier, Prime Minister Modi addressed the Indian community in Russia, highlighting India’s achievements over the past decade and promising more progress in the future. He noted that the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) had won state assembly elections in Arunachal Pradesh, Sikkim, Andhra Pradesh, and Odisha with a clean sweep majority.

Modi also expressed gratitude to Russian President Vladimir Putin for helping Indian students return safely to India during the war. He praised the Indian student associations in Russia for keeping Indian culture alive by celebrating festivals like Holi and Diwali.

In his first address to the Indian diaspora since being re-elected for a third term, Modi vowed to work with three times more strength and speed. He emphasized the government’s goal to make India the third-largest economy in the world during his third term.
