Prime Minister Narendra Modi praised the PM GatiShakti National Master Plan for its role in transforming India’s infrastructure. Launched in October 2021, the plan aims to enhance multimodal connectivity, create jobs, and improve logistics, contributing to the vision of a developed India, or ‘Viksit Bharat’.

In a recent social media post, PM Modi emphasized the initiative’s impact on progress, entrepreneurship, and innovation. He noted that the plan has significantly improved connectivity and development across various sectors by integrating stakeholders, reducing delays, and creating new opportunities.

The Ministry of Commerce and Industry released a study highlighting the achievements of PM GatiShakti over the past three years. The initiative has integrated 44 central ministries and 36 states/UTs with over 1600 data layers, making it a vital tool for planning infrastructure projects. More than 200 major projects have been evaluated under the plan’s principles.

Internationally, India is engaging with countries like Nepal, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka to promote the use of PM GatiShakti and geospatial technology in infrastructure planning. The government is also considering providing secure access to non-sensitive data for non-government users to aid in infrastructure development.

Aligned with the National Logistics Policy, PM GatiShakti has addressed critical infrastructure gaps, reduced logistics costs, and improved India’s logistics performance. Over 533 projects have been mapped on the PM GatiShakti portal, helping states streamline capital investment and accelerate infrastructure development.
