Prime Minister Narendra Modi Arrives in New York for UN Summit and Quad Leaders’ Meeting
Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived at John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York to attend the Summit of the Future at the United Nations. The Spokesperson for the Ministry of External Affairs, Randhir Jaiswal, confirmed the arrival.
During his visit, PM Modi will chair key bilateral meetings and interact with the Indian community. Members of the Indian diaspora eagerly awaited his arrival at Hotel Lotte Palace, holding Indian flags and chanting slogans like ‘Bharat Mata ki Jai’. One member expressed excitement about meeting the Prime Minister, while another shared a handmade portrait from a child with Type 1 diabetes, thanking Modi for providing insulin.
Earlier, President Joe Biden hosted the Quad Leaders’ Summit in Wilmington, Delaware, attended by Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida, Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese, and PM Modi. This summit is a farewell for both Biden and Kishida before they step down from their respective offices. The Quad is a diplomatic partnership between Australia, India, Japan, and the United States.
