Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to visit Poland on August 21-22, marking the first visit by an Indian Prime Minister to Poland in 45 years. Lodz Governor Dorota Ryl emphasized the importance of this visit, highlighting Poland’s view of India as a great partner for business and collaborations. She noted that many Polish business delegations regularly visit India, and companies like Infosys employ thousands in the region.

Deputy Mayor of Lodz, Adam Pustelnik, expressed his excitement and high expectations for PM Modi’s visit. He mentioned that PM Modi will meet with Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk and President Andrzej Duda, calling it a unique moment for both countries.

Amit Lath, Vice President of the Indo-Polish Chamber of Commerce, described the visit as historic, noting that it presents numerous opportunities for collaboration. He highlighted the growth of Indian businesses in Poland and the popularity of Indian vegetarian food. Lath also pointed out potential areas for collaboration, including the pharma sector, agriculture, and the food industry.

MEA Secretary (West) Tanmaya Lal described the visit as a landmark, coinciding with the 70th anniversary of diplomatic relations between India and Poland. He recalled Poland’s assistance to India during the 2022 Ukraine conflict and the historical ties dating back to World War II.

During his visit, PM Modi will hold meetings with Polish leaders and engage with the Indian community. He will receive a ceremonial welcome in Warsaw before traveling to Ukraine.
