Prime Minister Modi Welcomes Bangladesh PM Sheikh Hasina to India

New Delhi, June 22: Prime Minister Narendra Modi held important talks with Bangladesh’s Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina at Hyderabad House in New Delhi. This meeting marks their tenth encounter since 2019, showing the strong bond between the two countries.

Ceremonial Welcome

Sheikh Hasina, the first foreign leader to visit India after the formation of the Modi 3.0 government, received a grand welcome at Rashtrapati Bhavan. The Ministry of External Affairs called this a special welcome for a special partner.

Meeting with Leaders

Both leaders met with ministers and delegates from India and Bangladesh. External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar and other Indian ministers were present to greet the Bangladeshi PM. Later, Sheikh Hasina paid tribute to Mahatma Gandhi at Rajghat.

Strengthening Ties

This visit is expected to boost the relationship between India and Bangladesh. The two countries have a strong connection, sharing history, culture, and geography. In 2023, both nations engaged in several joint activities, including the inauguration of the India-Bangladesh Friendship Pipeline and participation in the Voice of the Global South Summit.
