Celebrating Birsa Munda’s Legacy

On November 15, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate Janjatiya Gaurav Divas, also known as Tribal Pride Day, in Jamui, Bihar. This event commemorates the birth anniversary of the legendary tribal leader, Bhagwan Birsa Munda. The Prime Minister will participate virtually in a state-level celebration in Raipur, Chhattisgarh, where he will also interact with beneficiaries of the PM Janman Scheme, highlighting the government’s dedication to tribal welfare.

Statewide Celebrations in Chhattisgarh

Under the leadership of Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, various events will be organized across all district headquarters in the state. These events will honor local freedom fighters and their families, celebrating the rich heritage and contributions of tribal communities.

Empowering Tribal Communities

Following the main ceremony, special Gram Sabhas will be held in designated villages from November 15 to 26. These sessions will focus on important topics such as the Forest Rights Act, PESA Act, and Sustainable Development Goals, aiming to empower tribal communities at the grassroots level.

National Recognition for Birsa Munda and Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel

In October, PM Modi announced the celebration of the 150th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel and Birsa Munda. During his Mann Ki Baat radio program, he emphasized the shared vision of these two leaders for India, despite facing different challenges. PM Modi also recalled his visit to Ulihatu village in Jharkhand, the birthplace of Birsa Munda, on his birth anniversary last year.
