New Delhi Hosts Major Global Telecom Events
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to inaugurate the 8th edition of the International Telecommunication Union – World Telecommunication Standardization Assembly (ITU-WTSA) at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi. This marks the first time the ITU-WTSA is being held in India and the Asia-Pacific region.
Alongside, the 8th edition of the India Mobile Congress (IMC) will also be inaugurated, themed “The future is now.” Prime Minister Modi announced these events on X, highlighting their significance in bringing together key stakeholders from the telecom sector.
The events will gather over 3,000 industry leaders, policy-makers, and tech experts from more than 190 countries. Discussions will focus on standards for emerging technologies like 6G, AI, IoT, and cybersecurity. Hosting these events in India offers a chance to influence the global telecom agenda and advance technology development.
The India Mobile Congress will showcase advancements in Quantum technology, Circular Economy, 6G, 5G, cloud computing, IoT, and more. It is Asia’s largest digital technology forum, featuring over 400 exhibitors, 900 startups, and participation from over 120 countries. The event will present more than 900 technology use cases and host over 100 sessions with 600 speakers.
