Preparations are underway for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s event at Nassau Veterans Coliseum in Uniondale, New York, on September 22. The ‘Modi&US’ event has attracted widespread interest from across the country and around the globe.

Event Details

Registration for the volunteer-run event was a complex multistage process, engaging Indian American community organizations nationwide. Over 25,000 attendees registered for the 13,000+ available seats, and the event is now sold out. Special invites were sent to many prominent members and friends of the Indian American diaspora.

Cultural Performances

The event will feature two stages. The main stage will showcase ‘Echoes of India: A Journey of Art and Tradition’ with performances by nearly 400 artists, including Grammy nominee Chandrika Tandon and Indian superstar Aishwarya Majumdar. The outer stage will feature community-led performances by over 100 performers.

Community Involvement

Preparations by 350 volunteers from 14 states are in full swing. Over 150 media professionals from 85 outlets will cover the event. The tagline ‘Progress Together’ reflects the celebration of Indian and American cultures and the Indian ethos of viewing the world as one family.
