Prime Minister Narendra Modi has returned to Delhi after attending the 16th BRICS Summit in Kazan, Russia. During the summit, he held bilateral meetings with Russian President Vladimir Putin, Iran President Masoud Pezeshkian, and Chinese President Xi Jinping.

He also stressed the importance of global governance reforms and prioritizing the concerns of the Global South. PM Modi noted the impact of the New Development Bank’s regional presence in India and highlighted BRICS’ efforts in trade facilitation, resilient supply chains, and e-commerce.
Green Initiatives and Future Plans
PM Modi elaborated on India’s green initiatives, including the International Solar Alliance and the Green Credit initiative. He invited BRICS countries to join these efforts and announced the launch of the BRICS Startup Forum, initiated by India.
He congratulated President Putin for hosting the summit and wished Brazil success as it takes over the BRICS presidency. The summit concluded with the adoption of the ‘Kazan Declaration’.
