In a remarkable achievement, the Government of India has earned Rs 2,364 crore in three years by selling scrap from various government offices. Prime Minister Narendra Modi commended the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) for their efficient management and proactive actions. He highlighted the initiative’s role in promoting cleanliness and economic prudence.

Special Campaign 4.0

Launched under Special Campaign 4.0, this initiative has significantly contributed to the state exchequer while promoting cleanliness across government departments. The Ministry of Commerce and Industry reported that DPIIT’s efforts to eliminate physical files and dispose of scrap materials freed up 15,847 square feet of space and generated Rs 16,39,452 in revenue.

Efforts and Achievements

DPIIT has completed various initiatives under Special Campaign 4.0, focusing on institutionalizing cleanliness and reducing pendency in government operations. A total of 58,545 physical files were reviewed, and 15,816 files were weeded out, resulting in significant space and revenue gains. Additionally, 300 cleanliness drives were conducted at 70 locations nationwide.
