Prime Minister Modi Meets President Biden in Delaware to Strengthen India-US Partnership
Prime Minister Narendra Modi met US President Joe Biden on the sidelines of the Quad Summit in Delaware. The two leaders discussed ways to enhance bilateral cooperation and exchanged views on global and regional issues, including the Indo-Pacific region.
PM Modi expressed his appreciation for President Biden’s contributions to the India-US partnership. The meeting was hosted at President Biden’s home in Wilmington, Delaware. PM Modi recalled his State visit to the USA in June 2023 and President Biden’s visit to India in September 2023 for the G-20 Leaders’ Summit, noting that these visits have added greater dynamism to the partnership.
Prime Minister Modi emphasized that India and the USA enjoy a comprehensive global strategic partnership driven by shared democratic values and vibrant people-to-people ties. Both leaders expressed confidence in the strength and resilience of their relationship.
The US delegation included Secretary of State Antony Blinken, National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan, and US Ambassador to India Eric Garcetti. The Indian delegation comprised External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar, Indian Ambassador to the US Vinay Mohan Kwatra, and Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri.
Following the meeting, President Biden stated that each meeting with PM Modi reveals new areas of cooperation, highlighting the strong and dynamic partnership between the two countries. PM Modi thanked President Biden for hosting him and called the talks extremely fruitful.
