Prime Minister Narendra Modi interacted with 181 IAS Officer Trainees of the 2022 batch at Sushma Swaraj Bhawan in New Delhi. These officers are currently serving as Assistant Secretaries in various ministries and departments.

PM Modi described the meeting as a ‘wonderful interaction’ and emphasized the importance of contributing to India’s growth and making a positive difference in people’s lives. He shared this sentiment on X, stating, ‘Had a wonderful interaction with IAS officer trainees of the 2022 Batch who are currently posted as Assistant Secretaries. Emphasised on ways to contribute to India’s growth trajectory and bringing a positive difference in the lives of our people.’

During the interaction, officers shared their training experiences. PM Modi recalled his previous meeting with them during the Aarambh programme in 2022. He explained that the Assistant Secretary programme aims to provide young officers with experiential learning opportunities from the top to the bottom of the administrative pyramid.

PM Modi stressed that New India demands a proactive approach and that the officers should strive to provide the best possible governance, quality manufacturing, and quality of life for all citizens. He mentioned schemes like Lakhpati Didi, Drone Didi, and PM Awas Yojana, urging the officers to work with a saturation approach to ensure social justice and prevent discrimination.

He encouraged the officers to be catalytic agents in service delivery, aiming to be ‘superfast highways’ rather than ‘speed breakers.’ He also emphasized that ‘Nation First’ is not just a slogan but his life’s aim, urging the officers to join him in this journey. He advised them to focus on the future rather than resting on past accolades.

Senior officials, including Jitendra Singh, Minister of State (Personnel), P K Mishra, Principal Secretary to the Prime Minister, Rajiv Gauba, Cabinet Secretary, and AK Bhalla, Secretary (Home and DoPT), were also present during the interaction.
