Prime Minister Modi Launches Rs 11,200 Crore Projects in Maharashtra
Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated and laid the foundation for various projects in Maharashtra worth Rs 11,200 crore via video conferencing. Key projects include:
Pune Metro
The Pune Metro section from District Court to Swargate was inaugurated, marking the completion of Phase-1. This underground section cost around Rs 1,810 crore. The foundation stone for the Swargate-Katraj Extension, costing around Rs 2,955 crore, was also laid. This 5.46 km extension will have three stations: Market Yard, Padmavati, and Katraj.
Bidkin Industrial Area
Modi dedicated the Bidkin Industrial Area, covering 7,855 acres under the National Industrial Corridor Development Program. Located 20 km south of Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, this project is part of the Delhi Mumbai Industrial Corridor and has a total cost of over Rs 6,400 crore.
Solapur Airport
The revamped Solapur Airport was inaugurated, enhancing connectivity for tourists, business travelers, and investors. The terminal building can now serve around 4.1 lakh passengers annually.
Memorial for Krantijyoti Savitribai Phule’s First Girls’ School
Modi laid the foundation stone for a memorial at Bhidewada. He also criticized past governments for their lack of urban planning.
Modi emphasized, “India should be modern, India should be modernized, but it should be based on our fundamental values. India should develop, grow and move forward carrying its heritage with pride.”
