On Sunday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi virtually flagged off six new Vande Bharat trains from Tatanagar in Jharkhand. These trains will enhance connectivity on several routes including Tatanagar-Patna, Bhagalpur-Dumka-Howrah, Brahmapur-Tatanagar, Gaya-Howrah, Deoghar-Varanasi, and Rourkela-Howrah.

The introduction of these Vande Bharat Express trains will benefit regular travelers, professionals, business people, and students. They will also boost religious tourism by providing faster commutes to pilgrimage sites like Baidyanath Dham in Deoghar, Kashi Vishwanath temple in Varanasi, and Kalighat and Belur Math in Kolkata.

Additionally, local industries such as coal mines in Dhanbad, jute industries in Kolkata, and iron and steel industries in Durgapur will see significant benefits.

Prime Minister Modi also laid the foundation stone and dedicated various railway projects worth more than Rs 660 crores to the nation. According to the Ministry of Railways, over 50 Vande Bharat trains are currently running across India, connecting states with Broad Gauge electrified networks.

The Vande Bharat Express, India’s first indigenous semi-high-speed train, was launched on February 15, 2019, on the New Delhi-Kanpur-Allahabad-Varanasi route. It represents the future of Indian Railways, showcasing the country’s commitment to innovation, self-reliance, and sustainable development.
