Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended his congratulations to the Jammu and Kashmir National Conference (JKNC) for their impressive performance in the J-K Assembly elections. According to the Election Commission of India, the National Conference-Congress alliance is set to form the government, having won 49 out of 90 seats. The National Conference secured 42 seats, the Indian National Congress 6, and the Communist Party of India (Marxist) 1.

In a post on X, Prime Minister Modi praised the JKNC and also acknowledged the efforts of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), which won 29 seats. The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) won three seats, while seven Independents were victorious. The Aam Aadmi Party made a surprising entry by winning its first seat in the Doda Assembly constituency.

Prime Minister Modi expressed pride in the BJP’s performance and thanked voters for their support, promising continued efforts for the welfare of Jammu and Kashmir. He also criticized the regional parties, labeling them as “three dynasties” responsible for corruption and the difficult situation in J-K. He accused the Congress, National Conference, and PDP of fostering terrorism for personal gain.
