Prime Minister Modi Congratulates Om Birla on Being Elected Speaker of 18th Lok Sabha

Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended his wishes to Om Birla for being elected as the Speaker of the 18th Lok Sabha. Modi emphasized the significant responsibility Birla holds, especially during the Amrit Kaal, and praised his leadership during the 17th Lok Sabha.

Modi’s Praise for Birla

Modi highlighted that the decisions made under Birla’s presidency in the 17th Lok Sabha will be remembered as a golden period in parliamentary history. He mentioned several important laws passed during this time, including the Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam 2023 and the Jammu and Kashmir reorganization act.

High Productivity

Modi pointed out that the 17th Lok Sabha had the highest productivity in 25 years at 97 percent, even during the challenging times of the COVID-19 pandemic. He commended Birla for his dedication and leadership.

Opposition’s Support

The opposition, led by Rahul Gandhi, also extended their wishes to Birla. Gandhi, along with Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju and PM Modi, accompanied Birla to the Speaker’s chair.
