Prime Minister Modi Announces Help for Families After Unnao Accident
New Delhi, India – Following a tragic accident in Unnao, Uttar Pradesh, which claimed 18 lives, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has announced financial assistance for the victims’ families. Each family of the deceased will receive Rs 2 lakh, while the injured will get Rs 50,000.
The accident occurred when a double-decker sleeper bus collided with a milk container on the Lucknow-Agra Expressway. The incident happened at 5:15 am, resulting in 18 deaths and over 30 injuries.
Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh expressed his condolences, calling the accident ‘extremely sad and heart-wrenching.’ He assured that the local administration is working to treat the injured.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath also expressed his sorrow and instructed the district administration to ensure proper treatment for the injured. He wished for their speedy recovery.
The bus was traveling from Motihari, Bihar, to Delhi when it hit the milk tanker near Gadha Village in the Behtamujawar Police Station area. Police, led by Circle Officer Arvind Chaurasia, quickly arrived at the scene to begin rescue operations.
Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak visited the hospital in Unnao to meet the injured and assured them of proper treatment. He mentioned that most of the injured are from Bihar and that the Uttar Pradesh government is in contact with the Bihar government to coordinate efforts.
