Prime Minister Modi and Union Ministers Celebrate 10th International Yoga Day

On the 10th International Day of Yoga, Union Health Minister JP Nadda praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for promoting yoga globally. Nadda highlighted that yoga has now reached every corner of the world and encouraged people to include it in their daily routines to stay healthy.

Prime Minister Modi led the celebrations at the Sher-e-Kashmir International Convention Centre in Srinagar. This year’s theme, ‘Yoga for Self and Society,’ emphasizes yoga’s importance in fostering both individual well-being and societal harmony.

Union Minister Kiren Rijiju noted that yoga is India’s gift to the world and has been widely accepted globally. BL Verma also praised PM Modi for promoting yoga internationally and urged people to practice it daily. Pralhad Joshi mentioned that since 2014, under PM Modi’s leadership, International Yoga Day has been celebrated worldwide, with increasing interest in yoga in Kashmir.

Shivraj Singh Chouhan, who performed yoga in the national capital, described yoga as a science for a healthy and happy life. He expressed gratitude to PM Modi for taking yoga to a global stage and encouraged everyone to make yoga an integral part of their lives.

Other Union Ministers, including Ashwini Vaishnaw, Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, and Mansukh Mandaviya, also participated in yoga events. Since 2015, PM Modi has led International Day of Yoga celebrations at various iconic locations, including the United Nations Headquarters in New York. This year’s celebrations will include a special event called ‘Yoga for Space,’ involving ISRO centers and units, and global participation from Embassies and Indian Missions abroad.
