Prime Minister Modi and President Putin Discuss Fuel Agreement and Global Stability
On Tuesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi met with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Moscow. They discussed a fuel agreement that has helped stabilize the global market. PM Modi highlighted the strong ties between India and Russia, noting that he has met President Putin 17 times in the last 10 years.
Despite sanctions on Russia due to the Russia-Ukraine conflict, India has continued to buy oil from Russia to keep domestic prices stable. PM Modi thanked President Putin for supporting India’s ‘Make in India’ initiative, which has created new job opportunities and boosted manufacturing in India.
PM Modi also emphasized that the cooperation between India and Russia has prevented a fertilizer crisis for Indian farmers. He recalled the long-standing relationship between the two countries and mentioned that his visit to Russia is being closely watched by the world.
During their meeting, PM Modi and President Putin discussed the Ukraine conflict. PM Modi expressed India’s commitment to peace and appreciated President Putin’s positive thoughts on the matter.
