The leaders reviewed bilateral relations, stressing the positive impact of stable relations on regional and global peace. They agreed to enhance strategic communication and stabilize relations through official dialogue mechanisms.

BRICS and Future Cooperation

Modi and Xi also discussed cooperation within the BRICS framework and India’s support for China’s upcoming SCO presidency. They acknowledged the efforts of negotiators in easing border tensions and agreed to continue confidence-building measures.

Future discussions will include topics like the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra. The recent agreement on patrolling arrangements is expected to lead to disengagement and resolution of issues that arose in 2020.
