Prime Minister Modi and Other Leaders Take Oaths in New Lok Sabha Session

The Lok Sabha session began with various prominent leaders, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, taking oaths as Members of Parliament. Union Ministers G. Kishan Reddy, Chirag Paswan, Kiren Rijiju, Nitin Gadkari, and Mansukh Mandaviya also took oaths as members of the 18th Lok Sabha, among others.

Union Ministers Bhupender Yadav, Giriraj Singh, Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, JD(U) MP Rajiv Ranjan (Lalan) Singh, BJP MP Piyush Goyal, and Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan were also sworn in.

Earlier today, seven-time BJP MP Mahtab was sworn in as the pro-tem Speaker of the 18th Lok Sabha by President Droupadi Murmu at Rashtrapati Bhavan. Opposition MPs of the INDIA bloc protested against Mahtab’s appointment, claiming it deviated from traditional practices.

Congress leaders Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi, along with other INDIA bloc leaders, staged a protest in front of the Gandhi statue in Parliament.

On June 26, the Lok Sabha Speaker will be elected, and on June 27, President Murmu will address the joint sitting of both houses of Parliament.

PM Modi congratulated the newly elected members and expressed pride in the new Parliament building. He thanked the people for their support and emphasized the goal of building a developed India by 2047.

PM Modi highlighted the importance of maintaining the sanctity of the Constitution and working together to speed up decisions.
